10 months old

Xavier is ten months old now.

This month Xavier discovered:
  • Water comes out of faucets
  • He  can reach the knobs on the stove and they turn
  • He can climb the stairs to find a parent
  • He can climb out his little tub
  • Objects have a purpose, and he is starting to use them for their purpose
This month Xavier learned:
  • He can stack two blocks, but not always on the first attempt
  • To cruise (walk holding on to furniture)
  • He can walk from one piece of furniture to another, if they are close together
  • He prefers crawling because it is easier
  • Can eat small pieces of table foods, his favorites are mangos and pears
Xavier is:
  • Very active
  • Fast
  • Very shy with strangers and new surroundings
  • Talkative
  • Curious
  • Tall and slim
  •  A sasquash (wears 2t-3t socks)
  • His parent's shadow (always wants to be right next to us)
The biggest challenge is getting him to eat. Sometimes it is hard to get Xavier to eat when I am present. His appetites is the first to go when he has a cold or is teething. Sometimes he won't eat solids for  several days. Barely eats or drinks when Mommy is gone. So I try not to leave him too often. Since he has been six months his weight has been fluctuating between 24 - 26 pounds. I'm actually glad he still nurses often at night because it is the only time of day he will consistently take in sustanence.
